Newmarket Horse Racing - Exciting July Festival In Prospect

Newmarket is the Headquarters of the World of Flat Horse Racing. Set in the heart of Suffolk, in England, Newmarket is without doubt the finest horse racing centre anywhere in the world. Dating back for over 300 years the Newmarket history is a very proud one and one that spawned horse racing world wide.
Today it is home to two world famous racecourse’s; the Rowley Mile and the July Course and it is still hosts the annual Guineas Festival where the opening two English Classics of the year are run, namely the colts 2000 Guineas and the fillies equivalent, the Guineas Festival is one of several major Newmarket Fixtures that start in the spring and finish during the autumn.
The Guineas Festival of course features the opening two classics of the Flat season, the 1000 Guineas and the 2000 Guineas. This meeting is the real start point for the UK meeting and is one of the most avidly followd in the country.
Other fixtures include meetings of the calibre of the Champion Meeting, who's feature race is the Group One Champions Stakes and takes place in mid October. The Cambridgeshire meeting that takes place at the beginning of October hosts one of the great handicap races in the country; the Cambridgeshire.
Newmarket also offers themed evenings and concerts during its summer race days which provides an opportunity for the uninitiated to sample top quality racing at a top quality venue. These meetings run right through the summer months on the July Course and have grown enormously in popularity
The biggest Newmarket attraction however in the summer is the world famous July Festival which is one of the highlights of the horse racing year. It certainly ranks amongst the most colourful and ambient meetings in the UK and is a must for any Newmarket summer visitor.
Newmarket is also home to many of the leading trainers in the country including Sir Michael Stoute, Sir Henry Cecil and John Gosden to name but three. In total there are 77 licensed trainers operating at Newmarket and they can enjoy some of the most fantastic facilities around.
