Directions
Located on the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk borders, on the edge of Newmarket Town Centre, the world famous Newmarket Racecourse is only 13 miles from Cambridge and approximately 60 miles from central London. It is reachable by all traditional methods as follows:
Road
The main A 11 and A 14 that can be joined from either the A1M from the North or from the M11 from the South, provide direct route into Newmarket. The racecourse is heavily signposted once in the general Newmarket area.
Rail
There are regular train services from London’s King Cross and Liverpool St Stations to Cambridge, Stansted and Ipswich, where onward services are available to connect to Newmarket train station. The racecourse itself provides a subsidised coach service to the racecourse from Stansted Airport and Cambridge on race days.
Services Offered By Racecourse
There is also a free shuttle service in operation on race days. It runs from Newmarket Town Centre to the racecourse and starts running approximately 2 hours before the first race. Racegoers can catch this service from the Hughes Electrical Store, the Guineas Shopping Centre and/or the Railway Station. The return shuttle’s start running around 45 minutes before the last race of the day
